BOSTON (CBS) – A popular Boston-based restaurant group says it’s investigating a credit card data breach that impacted a number of its customers.

Briar Group, which runs Solas, City Bar, Anthem, Ned Devine’s, The Harp and other popular restaurants and bars, said on its website Friday that the organization’s system was hacked sometime in late October or early November.

The restaurant group says it learned of the breach recently, and has been working with experts and law enforcement.

The breach appears to have impacted people attending conventions at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

A statement earlier this month from the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority indicated that attendees and employees had credit card information stolen, but the source had not yet been pinpointed.

Briar Group has apologized to customers who were impacted, and assured them that the breach has been secured.
